If you are new to Systemic Team Coaching®, then you’ll want to join either the virtual Foundation -Team Development Essentials course if you are very new to coaching or new to team coaching first to understand team coaching fundamentals, or the hybrid Certificate (Practitioner) program if you are already an experienced coach but have only a limited amount of experience with team coaching. If you chose the Foundation - Team Development Essentials course, then you can either progress to the hybrid or virtual Systemic Team Coaching Certificate (Practitioner) level, which will take you through the key components of Systemic Team Coaching®. You’ll get to know how to consider the range of approaches you can use when coaching teams, and the authority, presence, and impact that you bring to your team coaching relationships.
At the end of this program, you will have an extensive toolkit of practical diagnostics and coaching interventions for addressing the most commonly encountered situations and challenges you are likely to meet as a team coach. You’ll also receive and become recognized as a Certified Practitioner in Systemic Team Coaching®.
What is the difference between the Renewal Associates/AoEC and Renewal Associates/Coaching.com streams and programs?
The Renewal Associates/AoEC Systemic Team Coaching® Hybrid Certificate (Practitioner) program is the equivalent to the Renewal Associates/Coaching.com Systemic Team Coaching® Virtual Certificate (Practitioner) program. Both programs are aligned to cover the teaching, practice and supervision hours and the observation needed for team coaches to apply for accreditation of either the ICF advanced team coaching accreditation, the EMCC practitioner in team coaching accreditation as well as the standards set by other organisations such as the Association of Coaching and APECS.
The key difference between the two programs is that the Virtual Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) program is delivered completely virtually with 8 monthly modules comprising of a live webinar, a practicum group of 24 participants, divided into 3 x 8 person learning groups, and a core learning community event. The Hybrid Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) program comprises a ½ day virtual webinar, pre work, a 3-day in-person intensive training followed by 4 x 2-hour supervision groups over 6 months.
Both trainings cover in depth: how to coach all 5 disciplines necessary for high value creating teams; a training in using the Team Connect 360 and how to engage teams in the co inquiry and co-diagnosis stages of the work; and how to coach teams live in business-as-usual meetings.
Hybrid Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner)

This program is suitable for those who have experience in facilitation, coaching and developing teams or who have worked in organisational development.

What additional time for study is required outside of the program?
There is approximately two hours of pre-course reading / viewing to help get all participants ready to begin the Theory and Practice module.
In addition, there are post course handouts that might help support your on-going practice.

You will work with our team of highly trained and experienced team coaches, some of whom have played a key role in developing the program’s content.
Group Supervision/Action Learning Session - optional but required for the full certification.
We provide optional group supervision sessions with a qualified team coach supervisor. If you book the block of sessions at the time of your application, you will receive a substantial reduction in the session cost. All the program fees are exclusive of the supervision sessions cost as these are optional as not all participants wish to progress to full certification.
If you are considering joining the Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner) program, you will need to have attended all supervision sessions to prepare you for your continued learning journey.
What does the program fee include?

How do I apply?

How many training hours does the program cover?
Renewal Associates programs - 24 training hours (19 accredited hours). Plus 8 supervision hours (with the group supervision/action learning sessions)
Does the program offer any additional CCEUs for the supervision sessions?
The program offers 19 CCEUs accredited by ICF. (3 resource development, 16 core competency).
The total training hours is 24 hours (3 hours introduction webinar, 21 hours for the 3 days in-person training). There are also an additional 8 hours for the optional group supervision/action learning sessions. All these training hours can be used as total training hours to go towards accreditation for the ATC.
Can I miss any training hours?
Full attendance is required during the 3-day in person training to receive the attendance certificate and/or the full certification. Although we encourage all participants to attend the ½ day virtual introduction to Systemic Team Coaching®, a recording can be shared in exceptional circumstances.
Does the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) qualify for EMCC ITCA?
The Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner) holds TCQA accreditation at Senior Practitioner level and prepares graduates for ITCA at Senior Practitioner level (so long as all other requirements are met).
The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) does not currently hold TCQA accreditation. However, as it’s the first module of the Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner) we know it is aligned with the EMCC Global Team Coaching Core Standards, so we would expect it can be used towards an ITCA through the ‘TCQA EQUIVALENT education and training and/or work based experience and learning’ route (the equivalent of the ICF portfolio route).
Does the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) hold Accreditation?
Hybrid
The Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) is accredited with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) for 19 CCEUs (Continuing Coach Education Units) - 3 Resource Development and 16 Core Competency.
The hours can be used towards an ICF credential via the portfolio route and the ICF Advanced Certification in Team Coaching. For more detailed information please refer to the ICF website.
Virtual
The Team Development Essentials course is accredited by three different organizations:

International Coaching Federation (ICF) with a Continuing Coach Education (CCE) accreditation with 26 CCE Units.

European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) with 26 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours and a recommendation for Individual Team Coaching Accreditation (ITCA) at the Foundation Level.

Hybrid Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner)
Who is the program for?
This program is designed to build on your substantial knowledge and experience of creating, developing or leading teams. You must have completed the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner), either hybrid or virtual and attended four Action Learning/Group Supervision sessions, before you can start the Systemic Team Coaching Diploma (Senior Practitioner) program.
In addition, you must be:

An experienced individual coach with at least three years’ practice, having completed either training equivalent to ACC (ICF) or Practitioner Level (EMCC)

An external or internal consultant or HR business partner with a five-year+ career in organisational development and extensive coaching experience. You will be expected to be able to present your theoretical framework for coaching teams.

An experienced senior team leader with coaching skills

In all cases you will need to secure a client team, or be a leader of your own team, in order to complete a case study – which will be an important opportunity to experiment and practice your developing Systemic Team Coaching® skills.
How many people will be on the hybrid Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner) program?
We limit the maximum number of delegates on each course to 24 in order to maintain a minimum faculty/student ratio of 6:1.
Is there any pre-course work?
As this is a one-year Diploma program there is a recommended pre-course reading list and an entry tutorial with a member of the course faculty. You will be expected to arrange your own client team to work with for the duration of the program, ideally you will have this client team in place prior to attending the first full Diploma module.

You will work with our team of highly trained and experienced team coaches, some of whom have played a key role in developing the program’s content.
How much time will the work and study between modules take?
We suggest allowing approximately 15 days for your client case study, this will include your contracting meeting with the Team, each of the team coaching intervention sessions, attendance at business-as-usual meetings and preparatory and reflective work. In addition, there will be self-study, in the form of personal reading and reflection and to achieve the EMCC, Team Coaching Quality Award at Senior Practitioner Level you will need to evidence a further 23 days of personal study time.
How much does the program cost?

The price excludes the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner)program, which is an entry requirement for the Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner).
Places are offered with the requirement to pay a non-refundable deposit of £1,000.
You will also need to attend a minimum of four to six supervision sessions with an experienced team coaching supervisor as a part of your work with your client. The minimum cost for this is £250 per session and is dependent on the supervisor’s fee who is providing the training, and usually payable by your client (and agreed in your contracting with them). We are able to provide this supervision through our faculty on request.
What does the program fee include?
The program fee covers all study materials, refreshments and lunch on the in-person days.
What is your dress code for the virtual and in-person training?
We recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing.
How many training hours does the Systemic Team Coaching® Diploma (Senior Practitioner) cover?
The program covers 501 education hours which includes 126 faculty contact hours, 86 client contact hours, 47 peer practice and reflection time hours and 242 personal study and preparation hours.
What additional support do I receive upon graduation?
On graduation you can apply for a free 12-month AoEC individual accreditation. You will also receive free membership of the AoEC’ s Alumni Association which includes discounted subscriptions, Alumni events, discounted AoEC courses, special offers and access to the Alumni LinkedIn Community and more.

What is the Virtual Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) course?
This highly experiential course is designed for individual coaches, team facilitators, and organizational consultants seeking to coach teams. It brings together authoritative experience and guidance from leading thought leaders, practitioners and researchers in the field. Learn practical tools and approaches and have the opportunity to practice the learning in live action simulation, in preparation for application with client teams.
It differentiates Systemic Team Coaching® from other forms of team or group development and extends the definition, body of theory and practice in Team Coaching. It brings together the best practice and research from team and organizational development with the best from coaching into a new integrated approach. It goes beyond just helping the team to relate better internally, to coaching the team to co-create greater value with and for all their stakeholders. It is based on the Hawkins Five Disciplines of Teams model which is used extensively around the world.
An in-person version of this course has been taught and practiced successfully in 50 countries around the world, with over 3,000 student practitioners.
Who is hosting this course?
The Virtual Systemic Team Coaching® Practitioner course is led by Professor Peter Hawkins, Dr Catherine Carr, Michael Cooper, Dr. Hilary Lines and esteemed faculty of renowned figures in team coaching.
To further enhance practical skills, the course features eight Practicum sessions, each led by a hand-selected Practicum Leader and at least one Practicum Assistant from our global faculty of experienced team coaches from over twenty countries. Their role is to guide you through the practice exercises and training materials during the live sessions, and in between sessions in the community. Students are divided into small learning groups of around 8 students. These learning groups support the learning of the individual in the Practicum. The Practicums are designed to provide hands-on experience and real-world application of the concepts.
Optionally, if you are interested in pursuing ICFs Advanced Certification in Team Coaching (ACTC), we will be offering Group Supervision sessions with experienced Faculty with a focus on integration and continued learning with client work (additional fees will apply).
What are the prerequisites for joining the course?
To be accepted into the virtual Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) level, you need to have completed either the Foundation (Team Development Essentials) or a foundations team coaching certification course and have at least 6 months of hands-on experience coaching a team.
I am currently working with a team. Can I incorporate my work with this team into the course?
Absolutely yes! We highly encourage participants to apply the concepts and tools learned in either the hybrid or virtual Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) course to their current team coaching engagements. This real-world application not only enhances your learning experience but also allows you to immediately see the impact of your coaching on the team's development and performance.

How much time will I need to invest to be successful on the course?
In terms of sessions, the course consists of 4.5 hours of sessions per month.
Each month you will experience a:

What is Team Connect 360 Diagnostic?
Upon successful completion of the Practitioner graduates will be licensed to use the Team Connect (TC) 360 Diagnostic tool. TC360 is predominantly used as an initial diagnostic tool during the early stages of a team coaching project to provide an unbiased view of how the team is currently performing and so help to determine where both the coach and team should focus. Note that the use of the diagnostics incurs a cost for the coach’s client(s).

What is the course schedule for the Systemic Team Coaching Practitioner Course?

What are the graduation requirements?
Upon completing the graduation requirements, graduates of the Systemic Team Coaching® Certificate (Practitioner) will earn the designation Certified Practitioner in Systemic Team Coaching®.
The graduation requirements are:

If you miss a Practicum, you can use the Missed Practicum process to make up for your attendance. Note this can only be used once toward meeting your graduation requirements. How is Senior Practitioner structured?
10 modules consisting of a 90 min webinar, 60 min Core Learning session and a 3-hour Practicum.
The program attendance is capped at 240 people. There will be 25 people per Practicum, and three learning groups of up to 8 people per Practicum.

How much does the program cost and what payment plans do you offer?

Do you have a refund policy?
There is a 30-day refund policy offered by Coaching.com for their virtual programs.
Do we need to buy any learning or extra reading materials or diagnostic tools for the course to conduct Systemic Team Coaching?
We include all recommended reading for the program in the Welcome Pack. Whilst the books are not mandatory, they will be useful as a reference and learning tool. Any reading you need specifically for the Practicums will be given as handouts.
As for the tool, there is of course the AoEC Team Coaching 360 (TC360) diagnostic tool which does have a cost associated if you choose to use it. However, as you know Peter Hawkins offers the High Value Creating Team questionnaire as an alternative, which is currently licensed free of charge but must not be distributed outside of the organization or practice.
What is the process, requirement and costs of getting Senior Practitioner certification from EMCC?
Upon graduation you will automatically be awarded the TCQA. Should you wish to obtain your individual professional designation with EMCC you will simply need to complete the EMCC declaration form and pay the fee of around €250.
Community of Practice
Graduates of Diploma (Senior Practitioner) will be part of an ongoing Community of Practice, which will be an opportunity to connect live and share experiences and learning together.

What is the Team Development Essentials course?
Team Development Essentials is the collaborative creation by Professor Peter Hawkins and Dr Catherine Carr, renowned experts in team coaching who have dedicated their careers to advancing coaching, team dynamics, and leadership development.
It was designed to offer coaches, team managers, team leaders, and HR professionals a unique perspective on team development using the Systemic Team Coaching methodology, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively navigate and lead teams in today’s complex and uncertain world, preparing them to meet the challenges of tomorrow with confidence and strategic insight.
This course merges the foundational principles of team leadership with advanced coaching techniques, empowering participants to explore the dynamics of team performance and leadership from a systemic viewpoint. Participants will delve into the science and art of team coaching, learning why approaches such as understanding team dynamics, integrating coaching models, and developing team disciplines are so effective in creating a positive shift in teams and enhancing overall performance.
Who will be hosting these sessions?
The Team Development Essentials course is led by Professor Peter Hawkins and Dr Catherine Carr, renowned figures in team coaching. Professor Hawkins is known for his extensive experience and contributions in systemic team coaching, while Dr Carr brings a wealth of knowledge in leadership coaching and psychotherapy.
All of the six asynchronous modules have been delivered personally by them, and additionally, they each host two live Q&A sessions during the course. These sessions offer participants the unique opportunity to engage directly with these experts, deepening their understanding and addressing specific queries related to team coaching.
To further enhance practical skills, the course features six Practicum sessions, each led by hand-selected Practicum Leader and at least one Practicum Assistant from our global faculty of experienced team coaches from over twenty countries. Their role is to guide you through the practice exercises and training materials during the live sessions, and in-between sessions in the community. The Practicums are designed to provide hands-on experience and real-world application of the concepts taught in the modules by Professor Hawkins and Dr Carr.

The Team Development Essentials course, leading to the “Certified in Team Development Essentials” qualification, unites expertise and practical knowledge in the field of team coaching. This course offers a dynamic, live online learning environment that’s both flexible and engaging.

By synthesizing a diverse array of approaches, the course is designed to equip coaches, managers, leader and HRs with both the confidence and competence necessary to address a variety of common team challenges. Additionally, it encourages you to acknowledge the boundaries of their current skills and formulate a personal learning plan for growth within the team coach role.
A significant emphasis of the course is on systemic approaches to team coaching. This perspective equips participants with a broader range of responses and strategies, moving beyond typical linear models. It invites participants to challenge conventional assumptions about teams and team coaching, fostering the development of a unique, evidence-based practice.

What are the graduation requirements?
To graduate from the course and receive your Certificate in Team Development Essentials, you must meet the following criteria:

Complete all asynchronous activities for the six modules.

Attend at least 5 out of 6 Practicums live.

If you miss a Practicum, follow the Missed Practicum process to make up for your attendance.

Note this can only be used once toward meeting your graduation requirements. In case of missing more than two Practicum sessions, you will have the option to move to the next cohort for a small administrative fee.
